Why should you take a prenatal breastfeeding class?

Let’s talk about it!

• There is so much information out there it can be tough to know what’s right.  Learning from someone certified in lactation, breastfeeding, and infant feeding will ensure you get evidence based and reputable information!
• Most of us did not grow up watching people breastfeed, it is hard to do something you’ve never or rarely seen before.
• You can do everything “right” and still have challenges breastfeeding, knowing what to expect and how to protect your milk supply is key!
• With breastfeeding, you don’t know how much your baby is getting, so learning signs of satiety is important.
• You feed your baby 8-12 times a day, it will be helpful in setting yourself up for success by gaining knowledge of all things breastfeeding!
• While the nurses, healthcare providers, and IBCLCs you will encounter can help you in your breastfeeding journey, but we only see you for a short amount of time compared to the thousands of hours you will spend breastfeeding your baby in their first year of life! Empowering yourself with knowledge will help you have a successful breastfeeding experience.

This 3 hour class is designed to help expectant and new families discover what to expect during their breastfeeding journey and how to navigate early challenges often experienced when starting out with breastfeeding. It is an engaging class for families to learn the basics and beyond of breastfeeding, with strategies and tools to enhance their experience.
